Register for the Tour

Note: Registration is limited to Global Travelers Rotary Club members and associate members through July 31. 2024. Thereafter, the tours will be open to the public.

The cost of the tour from Tallinn, Estonia to Budapest, Hungary, May 10 - May 20, 2025 or the tour from Budapest, Hungary to Tallinn, Estonia, May 20 - June 1, 2025 is $1900. A $100 tip per person is included for the Volunteer Student Tour Guide, as that is her only compensation. Airfare, lunches and dinners and optional activities are extra. (assumes double occupancy, otherwise $400 single supplement)

(If you want the Helsinki option (see Itinerary) for the May 10 - 20 tour, this will cost $125 extra per person for double occupancy or $200 single occupancy, including the room in Hotel Arthur with breakfast, taxi to ferry terminal and the 2 hour ferry ride to Tallinn.)

These prices are VERY competitive. This is because we have no office overhead, no personnel costs, no commissions and no advertising costs built in.

The prices are per person for double occupancy. If you are traveling as a single, and are willing to be matched up with another same sex guest that appears compatible, let us know, and if a match may be done, the single supplement will be waived. If you require single occupancy, there will be $400 surcharge for either the May 10 - 20 tour or  the May 20 - June 1 tour.

To hold your spot on a tour, a $200 per person deposit is needed. Use the Eventbrite link below to pay the $200 or send a check. In an e-mail message to Rick Olson, indicate:

  • which tour you are going on,

  • If the trip south, whether you will join us in Helsinki for the optional extra day there. (Also, if you wish to stay in Budapest an extra day, let me know, so I can arrange that.)

  • if you need single occupancy (or are willing to get matched up)

  • if traveling with others, who that is, with their contact information

  • your complete contact information, including phone number, email address and

  • which Rotary Club you are a member of (if applicable).

The remainder of the tour cost will be due 30 days before the start of the tour.

A waiver of liability must also be signed and returned to Rick.

Click here to "register" to go to an Eventbrite page to pay the $200 deposit per person and get a "ticket" receipt.

Alternatively: If you wish to save us the $10 processing fee through Eventbrite, you can send a $200 check per person made out to "Rick Olson" to:

Disclaimer: How did we decide on the tour prices?

We calculated a breakeven price (plus a small profit)  based on an average of 10 guests traveling in each direction. (The maximum is 13 guests for each tour.) The travel and tour costs of Rick Olson as tour guide will be paid. He will pay for his own meals. He will receive no other compensation, despite his putting his money at risk for the deposits needed for the transportation and hotel reservations. All expenses of the assistant tour guide (current student at LCC International University or recent graduate yet to be selected) will be paid, including, but not limited to transportation to/from Klaipeda, Lithuania, accommodations, meals and any optional attractions accompanying the group.

The cost of the tour ($1900) includes a $50 donation per person to the Global Travelers Rotary Foundation to fund other club service projects, as well as a $750 per tour cost for the hands on project with the Klaipeda Rotarians..

If there are excess funds, then the remainder will be used for scholarships for  students of LCC International University.
