Why Use Assessments?
Assessments are wonderful tools for helping you
create greater self-awareness, from which you can base quantum leaps of
progress, either personally or organizationally. They are practical,
timesaving tools to gather insights to determine where to begin the most
effective work for individual performance improvement. They provide
information when designing programs to improve group or organizational
performance and productivity. And they can be of considerable assistance
in hiring decisions to “get the right people on the bus.”
To be useful, however, the right assessment needs to
be used in the right circumstance, and delivered and interpreted by a
trained consultant/coach. I have written a
comprehensive paper on assessments available in PDF form. I have
trained to become a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst.
I am pleased to be associated with Target Training
International, a leader in the assessments field for over 20 years, and
whose instruments are used by over 100,000 companies. All assessments
are not created equal. Bill Bonnstetter, President of TTI, has led the
company to make significant improvements over the years to maintain an
edge over the competitors in the assessment field. He has been avid
about TTI’s instruments being validated (able to produce accurate and
consistent results) to the point of throwing out a part of an assessment
in 1984 when it was found not to be providing valid information. In
short, TTI wants you to have valid, actionable results on which you can
base your decisions.
A variety of standard assessments are
available. In addition, customized programs may be designed for
self-assessment, group evaluation, coaching, seminars or focus groups.
These tools can be conveniently accessed by clients on-site 24/7 via the
Internet.
TTI Success Insights™ Assessments
Series
The full suite of TTI Success Insights™ reports
are built on TTI's Style Insights™ for DISC and Motivation Insights™ for
PIA&V. This collection of reports can open the door for effective
interpersonal communications between workers, members of a team or
managers or family members.
The Style Insights™ reports
listed below are DISC based.
DISC is the universal, neutral language of observable behavior and
emotion. The model categorizes how we act – period! DISC does not
measure intelligence, values, skills and experience or education and
training. The model predicts human behavior based on four factors, and
the strength of the responses to these factors:
Dominance
–
How you approach and respond to problems and challenges and exercise
power.
Influencing
–
How you interact with and attempt to influence others to your point of
view.
Steadiness
–
How your respond to change, variation and pace of your environment.
Compliance
–
How you respond to rules and procedures set by others and to authority.
The extensive, robust, customized reports will enable
you to know your own behavioral style, recognize the behavior style of
others, and adapt and blend your style for greater, more effective
communications and relationships. The reports will aid you in
identifying your behavioral strengths and possible limitations, as well
as provide guidance for how best to communicate with others.
These reports will help organizations gain commitment
and cooperation, build effective teams, resolve and prevent conflict,
increase sales and achieve better time management. They also allow
managers to give feedback to employees in a style they can understand
and accept.
An individual’s report will contain suggestions for
the ideal work environment for the individual (allowing a better match
between job requirements and natural styles, which increases
productivity and job satisfaction and lowers staff turnover and job
stress). The report will also suggest ways to best communicate with the
individual, and how best to motivate and manage the individual.

Degree Feedback Assessments*
Supervisors and Human Resources professionals have long wanted a better
evaluation instrument than traditionally used. The problems of
supervisor bias, inaccurate information, inaccurate perceptions,
problems of recency, etc. make the usual evaluation methods ineffective.
The 360º Feedback has become standard in today's most successful
corporations as a solution to these problems.
360 Degree Feedback
Assessments*are multi-rater assessments which give feedback from key
people about behaviors and skills that are important to working
relationships. They
allow multiple team members, coworkers and/or managers to give valuable
feedback regarding the effectiveness of an individual’s performance. The
results of the surveys are used in a number of ways to enhance and
develop the interpersonal skills and effectiveness of key employees.
The
360 Degree Feedback Assessments* are a powerful tool to:
·
Give companies an added insight to the training needs and wants of
individuals and functional work areas.
·
Assist in the growth and development of both employees and managers, as
sometimes the performance of an employee is adversely affected by
ineffective supervision.
·
Measure the progress a person has made in improving their individual
skills.
Help people improve their overall effectiveness.
·
Help people accept the fact that their current methods need some further
development.
·
Help people understand their true strengths and weaknesses .
·
Collect data to use in one-on-one personal growth mentoring.
·
Conduct organizational performance appraisals.
·
Collect data to set up a career development program.
The 360º Personal Effectiveness Survey completes the big picture by
giving the participant an understanding of how others see him/her in
certain soft skill areas. The full picture on any person makes it easier
to target a training program that would satisfy their needs.
The 360º Personal Effectiveness Survey is a tool that is customizable to
suit your needs; you are in control of the parameters. You will choose
the survey titles, content, respondent instructions, demographics,
categories, questions, rating scales, free-form comment areas, and
private login/password information. Survey results will appear in the
report(s) of your choice. Report types include demographic analysis,
mean score analysis, frequency distribution, written comments report, or
a master report of the previous listed reports.
